Oh what a day..
I know its been some time since I last blogged, but I’ve been busy among many other things (did lightning just hit the bus I was on just before I started writing?? I’ve never seen such bright light so close before).
But what a day it has been, even though its barely 6pm.
I woke up due to two phone calls. Both were blocked numbers, but I missed the first one simply because I was sleeping. The second one was a phone operator from Citibank, telling me that her sister called me by accident a few minutes before and she would just like to assure me that they have received my payment and there are no amounts outstanding.
This would make sense, if only for the fact that I cancelled my Citibank Credit Card somewhere in December 2008. Why call me 16 months from now and still send me monthly emails for requests of payment is beyond me.
And even if your sister called by incident, why do you have to call me again? How does that help in any way?
Bah. Since I was up, I decided to read the news a bit before heading down for a swim. Yes, it was around 1:40pm and it was sunny. Thought I caught a break 15 minutes into the swim when the sun decided not to shine on me anymore, only to have a young teenage couple step directly into my swimming lane.
I was really enjoying my swim until then too.
I have no issues with people standing in my lane, but if you’re groping each other and making out in the pool… have you ever kissed someone underwater? Have you ever SEEN someone kiss underwater? Lets just say I was forced to witness the latter, among many other things that I feel should be done in the confines of a room.
And if it wasn’t bad enough, they started blocking me from standing at the end of the pool, to heading to the middle of the lane. All I can say is =_=
On the way back home after the swim, I managed to see many cute and pretty young girls and couples. What is this? Is someone trying to tell me something? That there are many beautiful people out there and that they’re all out of reach for me? Sorry Aaron? Or maybe this is a test to let me know that good things are worth waiting for. In any case, it didn’t really improve my morale…
Anyways, reached home, took a shower and decided to wax up my hair… Only I couldn’t quite get it right. That’s fine… until I realized my face was full of small red patches. Must be the towel causing some allergies…
Its okay, I decided to bring my laptop out and head down to Sunshine Plaza to collect my iPod. They’ve been chasing me via telephone for the past few days to ask me to collect, and hence I did.
Walked down to the bus stop only to see the bus just slip me by… 10 more seconds and I would be on the bus…
Never mind. The bus came 13 minutes later, and many of us in the bus stop were perspiring thanks to the blazing sunlight.
After alighting from the bus stop, another guy did the same thing and decided to smoke while constantly staying in front of me. Oh wth =_=
Collected my iPod without incident, and had some wanton noodles since I was in the vicinity.
Wanted to head out to SMU or the National library to do some stuff when I was greeted by a thunderstorm as I walked out of Sunshine Plaza. Hooray! So much for plans..~
There was only one bus at the bus stop I could take, and while I was standing in the shelter of the bus stop, a car decided to speed me by travelling at 180km/h. Make a guess what happened?
The water crashed into the bus stop like a wave, and I was caught right in the middle.
Hooray! Decided to walk away from the bus stop as it was not unlike ‘taking refuge in a tree in a thunderstorm’ only to walk back after a while because there was really no way out of this place.
Took the bus for 2 stops before alightning (some JC girl was giving me weird looks… was it sympathy because she saw what happened to me at the bus stop?) at Little India, and deciding to take bus 66 home.
It didn’t help that the rain continuously assaulted us and my legs were constantly sprayed with water.
Finally boarded the bus and when I booted up the laptop, lightning either hit the bus directly (or somewhere really near us).
And its only 6:10pm! I wonder what the rest of the day will bring … yay!
Thankfully after my 80 minutes bus ride (traffic jam and all) I managed to reach home, showered and went to sleep from 7:30-11:30pm.
Yes, I was that tired…
I wonder what time I’ll sleep today =_=

Ris Low’s appearance on 98.7fm an April Fool’s Joke!
To update you on my last post about Ris Low being part of 98.7fm, it seems that this has turned out to be one big April Fool’s Joke!
It was announced yesterday (010410) during the Shan and Ross show.
As I’m not an avid listener of 98.7fm and I told myself not to listen to them since Ms Ris Low was part of it, I missed the announcement.
So does that mean that Ris Low will not be in 98.7fm anymore?
I sure hope so.
Incidentally, people have been flocking to the FaceBook group to remove Riz Low from 98.7fm and numbers have since reached 9,926!
Tsk, this shows her popularity with Singaporeans doesn’t it?
Someone please remove her from the media glare… permanently pwease!
Ris low and her controversy with 98.7fm
Did you know that Ris Low has joined 98.7fm as a co-host for one of the shows?
Did you know that on the first day of work she arrived 2 hours late, mistaking 1600 for 6pm?
Did you know that on the second day of work she left 2 hours before her shift ended?
Did you know that there’s a fanpage on Facebook asking Ris Low to quit the show?
The facebook page is aptly titled “Remove Riz Low from 98.7fm!!!”. Click here for the facebook page.
And did you know that the facebook page has 4,397 fans and counting? (No, make that 4,398 fans since I just joined).
Anyways, Xin.msn.com has an article on the entire fiasco which I reproduce in its entirety below.
Drama unfolds on Day 2 of The Shan, Rozz & Riz show: Furious over her co-host Ris Low, Rozz walked out midway of her own radio show.
Rosalyn Lee
It appears that they have achieved exactly what their boss had set them out to do - “spice up the evening show”. Barely 2 days into the newly set-up Shan, Rozz & Ris show, and drama unfolded last evening, when Rozz stomped off her own radio show, seemingly furious over her co-host, Ris Low.
It seems that not only did Ris showed up two hours late on her first day [citing the slip-up over military time 1600hrs as 6pm], she also ended her shift two hours earlier on her second day. Too much of a coincidence you think?
The brouhaha, as heard over the airwaves, started off with Rozz talking about “I know people think that I shouldn’t let emotions get in the way of work but I’m just like that” and “I’ve decided to leave the show because at least the angry one is not here.”
Apparently, before she made her sudden exit, Rozz had sounded rather unhappy when she spoke about Ris’s comment to reporters [on her 1st day of work] about her seemingly frostiness toward the ex-beauty queen.
According to Shan, who told his listeners that all efforts to reach Rozz through phonecalls and text messages were unsuccessful. During the “Muttons to Midnight Show” hosted by Justin and Vernon, the radio DJs were also heard discussing about the drama and spoke about Rozz sending a text message to her boss, requesting for a transfer.
Spotted on another 987FM radio DJ, Desiree Lai’s twitter page, she posted: “So Ris left early. Roz was pissed off. She left b4 show ended. Roz wants a transfer. Tom its juz Shan & Ris. Roz nw refuses 2 pick up fone.”
Question remains now, if this is for real or just another publicity stunt. Creative or outrageous - we’ll just have to wait and see. Either way it’s got everyone talking and all the media buzzing did spiced up their evening show after all.

For everyone’s sake please remove her from the media’s glare for the next 5 years or something. A storm brews on the internet whenever she does anything… sheesh.
These are the people we have representing us in Parliament?
Was reading this article and it just makes me feel sad how things are turning out.
Sure, you may not like cats and they may not like you, but is this the way a minister in Parliament, someone we pay millions to lead us, act?
We present the facts to you, and instead of trying to understand where we’re coming from, you let your preconceived notion and what you hear guide you.
Some quotes from the article:
I responded that the people who need to be “educated” first would be the Town Council. I asked him what’s the rectification / resolution for this case and he said “NO RESOLUTION”. I asked if he’s going to remove a cat everytime someone complains and he said “yes”.
When I proceeded to “educate” him on the whole VACUUM EFFECT and what CWS do, he scoffed at me and very condescendingly tell me that I can fight all I want but they still act whenever there’s a complaint. He didn’t let me begin what I set out to say, let alone finish.
Its no wonder she..
felt so disrespected or patronized when talking to an MP. I stood up, stared him in the eyes and asked him “SO WHERE’S THE VALUE-ADD FROM THIS MTP-SESSION?” He shrugged his shoulders and walked away…averting my glare the whole time.
I wonder if there are other MPs like that…
By the way, the MP in question is..
Name : Dr Ong Seh Hong

Looks like there are quite a few articles about him in the Internet as well…
Once again, do visit the website above. It should be an enlightening read for some of us.
Best man’s prank: Would you do something like that?
What a prank to pull on his newly wed friend… Can’t imagine anyone in Singapore doing this though.
From washingtonpost.com:
When a man in the UK was asked to be the best man at his friend’s wedding, he was touched. So touched, that he promised not to pull any pranks before or during the wedding. After the wedding though, that’s another story.
This man, who is choosing to stay anonymous, has set up this Twitter account for the sole purpose of automatically tweeting when the newlyweds are having sex. I’m not kidding. Read the entire tweet stream from the bottom up if you want the full story. But basically, this guy was watching his friend’s house while they went on their honeymoon and he placed a device under their mattress. This device, which is similar to the one found here, is a pressure-sensitive pad that tweets out when sexual activity starts, when it ends, the force of the “action,” and a “frenzy” rating.
December 9 saw the first such action. This is the first report:
They?re on the job! #1 ¿ Action commenced at 12.21GMT. Weight: 84KG.
And then it was over ? 3 minutes later:
They?re off the job! #1 ? Action concluded at 12.24GMT. Duration: 3 m.15 s. Frenzy Index: 8 (scary). Judge?s Comment: “Is that it?”
But alas, that was just a test of the guy jumping on the bed to make sure it would work. It did. So the real first action is as follows:
They?re on the job! #2 ¿ Action commenced at 15.50GMT. Weight: 151KG.
22 minutes later:
They?re off the job! #2 ? Action concluded at 16.12GMT. Duration: 22 m.05 s. Frenzy Index: 4 (easy listening). Judge?s Comment: “Good work!”
Before everyone goes crazy over this, remember that all of this is being done anonymously. Neither the friend nor the couple are known. In fact, who knows if this is even real, and who cares, it’s hilarious. Still, the man claims he will let his friend in on the fun soon. “What you will NEVER know is who they are. Or who I am.I figure I?ll tell my mate in due course that he?s had an audience. So spread the word!,” writes the anonymous man. Consider it spread.
So why’s he doing this? “BTW ¿ he stitched me up something rotten when he was my best man so I reckon this is reasonable payback ,” he tweets.
Oh Twitter, the joys never end. What will they think of next?
The twitter site can be found here, while technology for the tweeting bed can be found here.
Just when you thought that the controversy with Ris Low is over…
Normally when someone resigns, all hype should fade with it right?
But no..~
There’s a lot more to her than it seems…
This is a full timeline showing her fall from ‘grace’.
* Ris Low, 19, started making the rounds as a beauty pageant hopeful on the Internet when a Razor TV video was posted on July 8 prior to her winning Miss Singapore World on July 31.
* The newspapers picked up the story about a month later on how she was being slammed by netizens for her poor spoken English and coinage of the word ‘boomz’.
* On Sept 25, news broke that the South Africa-bound beauty queen was sentenced to two years of supervised probation after being convicted of five charges of credit card fraud, using them to splurge on $8,000 worth of jewellery, lingerie and restaurant bills. As a result, she was dismissed last year from a medical group where the hospitality and tourism student at MDIS was working as a clinic assistant.
* Ris relinquished her crown on Sept 29. On Oct 4, The Sunday Times reported a spat between Ris and the pageant’s first runner-up Claire Lee. Ris claimed that Ms Lee faked a back injury to save face in case she was not selected to represent Singapore. She also claimed Ms Lee was the one who snitched to the media about Ris being on probation for credit card fraud. Ms Lee denied both accusations.
* Ris appeared in a district court on Oct 5 for a probationary hearing with over 60 related charges. Despite her defence of bipolar disorder, the judge imposed stricter conditions on her probation. They included barring her from shopping alone and being accompanied by a family member when she is out at all times.
ST forgot to report that Ris Low spent an estimated $12,000 on the competition as well. From buying tables to sponsoring herself a 10 page spread in the advertising booklet..
And in the news 2 days back..
Ris has to retake exam
By Elena Chong, Courts CorrespondentDISGRACED Miss Singapore World Ris Low has to retake her examination at MDIS, where she is doing a seven-month diploma course in hospitality and tourism.
It was revealed in a district court on Tuesday when she turned up for a review of her 24-month supervised probation that she was found with two pieces of revision notes in her pencil box during her examination. She claimed she had forgotten to remove them.
MDIS has given her a warning and ordered her to retake her examination.
Asked by District Judge May Mesenas if Ms Low understood the seriousness of that matter and undertook not to repeat the mistake, Mr Sng Kheng Huat, her lawyer, assured the court that she was prepared to give an undertaking and would comply with the conditions in the probation order.
The probation officer who was in court said Ms Low needed to be reminded of the seriousness of non-compliance.
Judge Mesenas, who also imposed extra conditions on her probation, which include no shopping on her own, turned to Ms Low and asked if she had anything to say. The ex-beauty queen shook her head.
Her parents were in court with her.
