938 Live Interview @ MediaCorp… well, “Live” - 041209
Woke up at 8+ so that a few of us could meet 945 at Novena, before taking a cab over to MediaCorp reception to change our pass. Lionel’s group consisted of Limin and ZhongQiong, while our group had Yamuna, Melvin, Shakinah and myself.
Mr Adrian Lee from XPR was also with us that morning.~
In case you’re wondering, we’re here at MediaCorp radio to be interviewed by Stanley Leong and Pamela Ho in “The Living Room” from 10am-12pm. The winners of Project Reach 2009 were given this honour, and I was glad to be a part of it. We were all really excited… And I saw Vivian Lai and Michelle Chia on the way there too!
Anyways, the interview started at 11am, though we reached the studios at around 1030am. Chatted around and looked around a bit.

Yamuna, Limin and Piya

Lionel blocking my shot. tsk tsk.

Then Piya, Adrian, Lionel and Yamuna went in for the interview. We looked from outside and well, just took pictures~
There were two layers of glass, so there was quite a lot of reflections. Apologies in advance.
There’s Piya!

That’s all of them, including Stanley Leong and Pamela Ho.

Candid shot of Piya from the back while she was posing for another shot~

Lionel staring blankly at us…

A good shot of the two DJs in action~

Even though they were inside for an hour, half the time the DJs were commenting on news, traffic reports and other stuff. Its really quite interesting to see them do it in real life though I expect it to be even more interesting inside the room. All of them had headphones on to hear what was being said clearly.
Us on the outside however, had to strain our ears to listen to what was being said as loads of people were walking around.
Eventually though some of us gave up and we took a short tour around the offices
Later rejoined the group, and went back to the entrance before we realised that there’s a short interview with Melissa Tan (also from 938 Live). We had a couple of takes cause some of our answers were not up to standard according to Piya (which I agree, heh). Yamuna made a gaffe while answering some questions too. I’ll put up the podcast of it when I get it.
Anyways, the results of the interview can be found here.
With so many charities and non-profit organisations in Singapore, communication plays a crucial role in advancing each of these social causes, all vying for that donation dollar.
Murdoch University International Study Centre recently held the Project Reach conference, where students pitched communication strategies to 13 not-for-profit organizations.
Melissa Tan with the details.
